Though many companies say they plan on cutting staff this year and media reports on the economy are becoming increasingly grim, there is some good news:

Employees’ own outlooks aren’t that gloomy.

Almost 70% of workers say they aren’t worried about losing their jobs in the near future, according to a recent Gallup poll.

The survey also found that:

  • 59% of employees aren’t concerned about having benefits reduced
  • 68% aren’t worried about pay cuts, and
  • 88% don’t think their jobs will be outsourced overseas.

That means most companies have probably done a good job communicating openly and preventing unfounded rumors from flying.
